Suzy Mangion is a freelance film historian, composer and singer, based in Manchester.

She holds a PhD in Art and Film History from the University of Manchester, where she taught on the Film Studies BA, and an MA in English from Cambridge University. Her specialist areas of research are Surrealist and avant-garde cinema, film sound and music, and the early sound era.

She has published several articles on experimental film, curated live music and cinema events, and most recently completed a short film commissioned for Delia Derbyshire Day 2021.
