A filmmaker whose guile with the camera can seem almost magical

The New York Times

Last Train Home is a stark, bleak and unflinching revelation of a film. The story begins in 2006 with the parents attempting to buy train tickets to join the other thirteen million people trying to get home for Chinese New Year. From the train they depart on a ferry boat and finally by bus to be reunited with their children. The mother recalls leaving sixteen years earlier and leaving her baby behind. These once a year trips are the only connection they and millions of others have with their children.
