History meets romance in this four-part marathon of the Russian classic blockbuster (film and pizza nights)
A film adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's epic War & Peace, the four-part cinematic tour de force follows the close-knit Rostov family and their friends through the Napoleonic War.
This marathon screening will run in two sittings - Parts 1 & 2 on Saturday 15 February from 6:30pm and Part 3 & 4 from 5pm on Sunday 16 February. Food and hot drinks will be provided in the theatre bar during the interval and are included in the £10 ticket price. Other drinks will be available from the bar.
Lavish in its production, meticulous in historical accuracy and massive in scope, featuring thousands of real-life soldiers in re-enactment battle scenes that called for pioneering camera work, it also sustains an intimate, gripping family drama and haunting romance at its heart. Winner of Golden Globe and Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.
This is a unique and unmissable opportunity to see this entire four-part epic film on a big screen, in a beautiful setting of a historic theatre auditorium at Altrincham Little Theatre.
